So its Memorial Weekend and one of my favorite holidays for many reasons. One, it honors our fallen soldiers, our heroes, the veterens. They deserve a day since they fought a tough fight, even if they never went to war, to protect our country and we should salute them and Memorial Day we do that. Two, its the 'kick off' to summer time. The beginning of cook outs, camping, fishing, and just enjoying the great outdoors. This weekend we started off with some geo caching and some fishing on Saturday. I found a website that describes geo caching in a funny way. "Geocaching is the only hobby that requires a handheld GPS unit and $12 Billion dollars worth of military satellite equipment to play". We went to Fallbrook, which used to be a coaltown back in the 1800's and it now is one of the most serine places I've seen in a long time. On our way to this beautiful area, we came across some of the windmills. This is the first time I've seen one up close and I have to say, I was pretty impressed. I know that there is alot of complaints about these things but I just have to think that the good will out weigh the bad...

We found our cache and I found a beautiful scenery to capture. We also ventured to Mill Creek just outside of Mansfield for a cache and enjoyed the sound of the creek and the beautiful back country view. Then we took to our normal fishing

area to try and catch some

trout. The fish were biting, foe Jordan, but they were just little ones so we threw them back for another day. Sunday morning we headed out for our usual ritual. I dropped Bruce off at mom's and Jordan and I headed to church.
I didn't tell him he had to go so it was a pleasant surprize when he said he would. After church, we visited at mom's for a while then headed out for more caching. This time not very eventful, we couldn't find any of the caches we had ventured out to find so we headed to Beechwood out in Little Marsh for some fishing. This too became a bust as Jordan was thoroughly annoyed with the horse flies and heat. So, after a long day getting nothing accomplished we headed home.
Today we stayed at home for the most part. We run and got groceries and plants and came home and planted the garden. Now just waiting for those watermelon to grow WOOT...Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and paid respect to our fallen heroes.
